General Information

Founded in 1859, Polito is a leading public university, in Italy and Europe, in technical-scientific teaching and research with over 32000 students from more than 100 countries. Polito is strongly committed to collaboration with industry and government authorities and the Politecnico Business Research Centre, within the Campus, is the place dedicated to cooperation between Politecnico and private Companies through joint laboratories and research facilities. Oldest school of engineering in Italy, one of the largest qualified Italian academic institutions in Engineering; the Dept. of Electronics and Telecom is the largest research department within Polito. The NavSAS (Navigation Signal Analysis and Simulation) research group of the department has an excellent record of scientific publications in GNSS and a strong reputation for participation in international projects.

Research Facilities

Expertise in Communications, navigation, signals/channels management and simulation and full software implementation of GNSS receivers; remote sensing, radio occultation, electromagnetic wave propagation. HW/SW tools for the design of prototype front-ends, software and software-defined receivers; GNSS receivers; spectrum analyzer, oscilloscopes; function generators; FPGA and DSP boards; full software receiver and full software GNSS signal generator; configurable NAV/Com platform hosting off-the shelf GNSS chipsets and several communication channels (WiFi, GPRS, VHF, Bluetooth). Remote sensing laboratory, radio occultation and other GNSS remote sensing techniques, electromagnetic wave propagation.
